The trends visible with DDR2 2GB RAM are really varied in the current year. They swing from high to low and vary a lot in terms of their prices depending on the prices of PC and the trends that is being followed as such. In the previous year the memory prices enjoyed a roller coaster ride, something that had not been experienced by the computer manufacturers at all. In the future as well there would be major upswing or a downslide in the prices of memory based on the PC prices. If the prices of computers are on the rise, then obviously the RAM index would also go up, and the converse factor also holds true. Therefore the variance on the RAM prices is completely based on the end, which is the PC price.
Taking for instance the scenario in the last year the prices of DDR2 RAM fell down to almost 70% per gigabit in the markets and just recently it rose up again. This shows that computer RAM is like any other commodity that is available in the market and since it can be bought from many other vendors and is also easily available; therefore there is a competitive market, because of which the prices of RAM are always to be weighed before making the purchase. Continuing to talk about the last year scenario, when the prices of computer declined there was so much surplus memory inventory in the market, and with the subsequent rise in the prices there was a shortage of the same.
Therefore it is a comparative analysis that has to be associated with the RAM prices and it cannot be evaluated independently at all. Also another reason for the price fluctuation in DDR2 RAM is the fact that most techno geeks are now shifting to DDR3 RAM, owing to the fact that it is faster. The fact that it is not compatible with DDR2 RAM leads to complete revamping of the RAM sector, in case anyone want to do the switch!
